medalUnderstanding Ranks

Explore the 7 naval ranks from Seaman ($5) to Admiral ($10K). Learn how Valor points work and what each tier unlocks.

The GATE 2 campaign uses a naval-themed rank system designed by Oshi, inspired by the military themes of the GATE franchise. These ranks are part of the fan participation experience on Oshi's platform, not part of the anime itself.

Your rank reflects your support level. Higher ranks unlock more rewards and deeper access to the production. You can start at any level and increase your participation over time.

How it works

Every contribution earns Valor Points, and your total Valor Points determine your rank. You don't have to commit to a single tier upfront. You can start at Seaman and increase your support over time, and your rank updates as your Valor Points grow.

Your dashboard tracks your current rank and progress toward the next one, so you always know where you stand.

For a detailed look at how Valor Points and Merit Points work, see Valor & Merit Points.

What ranks unlock

Rewards are cumulative through the lower and mid tiers: reaching Chief Petty Officer means you receive everything from Seaman and Petty Officer as well. At Officer tiers (Commander, Captain, Admiral), certain limited and experiential rewards are exclusive to their specific tier rather than carrying over. Each Officer rank receives its own version of credits placement and production collectibles.

At a high level:

Seaman through Petty Officer ($5–$20): Digital content including character reveals, rank emblems, production updates, and your name on the Commendation Board.

Chief Petty Officer ($100): Behind-the-scenes production insights, digital production collectibles, and a campaign-exclusive physical merch pack.

Officer tiers ($250–$10,000): Credits placement, one-of-a-kind production art, signed collectibles, Officer Quest Access, and experiential rewards. Admiral supporters (limited to 10) receive a background character cameo in the anime.

For a complete item-by-item breakdown, see Reward Details by Tier.

Beyond ranks: Oshi Membership Rewards

Your rank determines what you unlock, but it's not the full picture. Every supporter is enrolled in Oshi Membership Rewards (OMR), which is where the ongoing experience lives.

OMR includes Victory Drops, community milestones, and for Officer tiers, exclusive quest participation. While your rank is set by your contribution level, OMR is what keeps the experience active throughout the campaign and beyond.

Campaign window and deadlines

The campaign window runs from Feb 27 through May 27, 2026. During this period, all seven ranks are available and supporters can access the full reward experience, including physical merchandise, credit and cameo submissions, Officer Quest Access, and the Admiral tier.

Some rewards have specific deadlines tied to production schedules. For all key dates and a full comparison of campaign vs. post-campaign participation, see Campaign Timeline.

Do ranks expire?

Never. Your rank is permanently tied to your profile as proof you were part of GATE 2's creation.

After the campaign window closes on May 27, 2026:

What stays yours: Your rank, digital collectibles, production access, and all unlocked content remain in your account permanently.

What closes: Officer tiers (Lieutenant through Admiral) close for purchase. Campaign-exclusive rewards, including physical merchandise, credit submissions, and cameo submissions, are no longer available. These are tied to production deadlines and cannot be offered later.

What continues: Seaman through Chief Petty Officer remain open for new supporters with access to digital rewards and production content.

What's ahead: Ranks based on contribution level are one way to participate, but not the only way. We're building additional recognition paths based on community engagement, not just contributions. Details will be shared closer to the anime release.
