# About Oshi

Learn what Oshi is, how we connect fans directly to anime creators, and what it means to be a production committee member.

Oshi is a platform where anime fans participate directly in productions, accessing exclusive content, earning rewards, and supporting the creators behind the shows you love.

***

### How Oshi works

Animation is a craft. Teams pour years into worlds that live for 24 minutes at a time. That work deserves to be seen, not just consumed.

Oshi exists to open that door. For GATE 2, we're not just a sponsor or partner. We hold the master licensing rights, which means we're responsible for streaming, merchandise, marketing, and distribution. We serve on the production committee alongside the animation studio and publisher.

That position gives us direct access to content that rarely reaches fans: storyboards, character designs, key animation frames, director commentary. And it means we can offer things other platforms can't, like your name in the actual anime credits.

When you join, you're not watching from the outside. You get to see how the anime is made, support the creators directly, and become part of the production journey.

Participation ranges from $5 to $10,000. Your rank determines your rewards and access.

| What you get | How it works |

Fans already go above and beyond for the anime they love. Now, for the first time, the production team can recognize it.

This isn't a streaming service. You're not just buying merch. You're joining the production journey while the anime is being made.

The name comes from *oshikatsu* (推し活): the Japanese concept of actively supporting what you love. That's what we built Oshi for.

***

### Earn rewards for participating

Anime fans already do incredible things for the shows they love: fan art, cosplay, community building, word of mouth that reaches people no ad campaign ever could. Creators notice. In Japan, oshikatsu (推し活) is recognized as one of the most meaningful forms of support a fan can give.

But until now, there's been no official way for the people making the anime to recognize those fans directly. In gaming, that's already changing. Programs like HoYoverse's creator incentives for Genshin Impact and Riot Games' community content initiatives have shown what happens when studios formally recognize the fans who champion their work. Anime has celebrated its fans in its own ways, but never at the scale or structure that gaming has introduced. Inspired by that model, Oshi is bringing that same energy to anime production. As a production committee member, we can connect the creators behind GATE 2 directly with the community that supports them.

Through Oshi Membership Rewards (OMR), the community members who show up, participate, and help GATE 2 reach new audiences are recognized for it. Complete quests, climb the Merit Leaderboard, and help spread the word. Officers (Lieutenant rank and above) unlock exclusive questlines with additional reward opportunities.

For Full Details, see [Oshi Membership Rewards](/start-here/oshi-membership-rewards).

***

### Who's behind Oshi

Oshi exists because industry veterans believe anime needs new models that connect creators directly with fans.

# How Anime Gets Made

Discover how production committees fund anime, why creators rarely connect with fans, and how Oshi changes that.

Understand how anime gets funded and produced, and why Oshi can offer access that doesn't exist anywhere else.

***

### The Production Committee Model

Most anime isn't made by a single company. Instead, a group of companies pool resources to fund production together. This group is called a **production committee**.

A typical production committee might include:

* The **publisher** (who owns the original story)
* An **animation studio** (who actually makes the anime)
* A **music label** (who handles the soundtrack)
* A **broadcaster** (who airs it on TV)
* **Merchandise and licensing partners**

Each member contributes funding and shares both the risk and the rewards. In exchange, they get decision-making authority and access to production materials.

This is how most anime you've watched got made, from Attack on Titan to Demon Slayer to GATE.

***

### What "owning a story" means

When people in the anime industry talk about an "IP" (intellectual property), they mean the story, characters, and world that make up an anime. It's everything that defines what a series is and what it can become.

GATE started as light novels published by Alphapolis. The IP includes those novels, the characters like Tokushima and Primera, the Special Region world, and the rights to adapt it into anime, games, and merchandise. When an IP is successful, light novels and manga become anime, reaching entirely new audiences.

> **Key point:** The production committee controls what happens with the IP, including what content gets shared with fans. Oshi holds a seat on the GATE 2 production committee, which is what makes this level of fan access possible.

***

### Where Oshi fits

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FxE5AJQYcAvNrSeMFWo6i%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=baf6683d-343f-4612-8e9e-24905e07c240" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Production committees decide what fans see and when. Traditionally, that means fans wait until release, watch the finished product, and never see the work that went into making it.

Oshi exists to change that.

For GATE 2, Oshi is part of the production committee and holds the master licensing rights, covering streaming, merchandise, marketing, and distribution. That position gives Oshi direct access to production content that typically never leaves the studio: storyboards, character designs, key animation frames, and commentary from the people actually making the anime.

We built a platform where creators can share their journey directly with the fans who care most. Studio M2 (founded by Masao Maruyama) and GENCO are involved with the animation production of GATE 2. For future projects, creators and studios may use Oshi to open their doors to fans themselves. The structure varies. What doesn't change is the result: fans finally have a place to support the work they love while it's being made.

***

### Why this matters to you

**Traditional anime experience:** Anime gets announced → You wait months or years → You watch it like everyone else.

**With Oshi:** You join during production → You access exclusive content as it's created → You're part of the journey before the first episode airs.

You're not just a viewer waiting for release. You see how the anime gets made, support the creators directly through the Creator Reward Pool (Oshi's system ensuring animators, directors, and production staff receive ongoing compensation), and become part of the production story.

That's what oshikatsu looks like when creators and fans are actually connected.

# Where Do Your Contributions Go?

How your support is allocated on Oshi. From rewards and production access to the Creator Reward Pool and growing GATE 2's audience and community.

When you participate in a campaign on Oshi, your contribution supports four things: your rewards, the creators making the anime, growing the audience and community around it, and the platform that connects it all.

***

## Your Rewards & Access

Most of your contribution goes toward designing, producing, and delivering the rewards you've unlocked. That includes digital production collectibles tied to the anime's creation, physical merchandise designed for the campaign, and exclusive content shared from pre-production through premiere.

As an example, a Chief Petty Officer might receive a digital background painting from an episode alongside a production note from the art director explaining why that location was designed the way it was. Every rank comes with its own set of rewards, delivered throughout the production.

For full details on rewards and access, see [Rewards by Tier](/gate-2-campaign/reward-details-by-rank-tiers).

***

## Creator Reward Pool

Directors, animators, character designers, and production staff put years of work into every project. Traditional production models share royalties with some key roles like original authors and scriptwriters, but most of the people who bring an anime to life (animators, episode directors, character designers) are paid once and move on.

Our goal is for the Creator Reward Pool to extend ongoing compensation to more of the individuals who actually make the anime.

### Who receives Creator Reward Pool distributions

Individual creators who work on GATE 2 in eligible roles can receive distributions directly once they are verified through Oshi. Roles we're planning to include:

* Director
* Assistant Director
* Episode Directors
* Animation Directors
* Key Animators
* Lead Script Writer
* Character Designer
* Line Producers

This isn't a donation to a company. These distributions go to the individuals behind the work.

### How it works

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FrdK1ECcfIp6LihBV0Tb3%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=98c71b20-567a-44d6-918f-3ee9c6f093b1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Oshi allocates a portion of campaign contributions to the Creator Reward Pool. Every eligible creator receives a minimum bonus from the campaign. Beyond that, distributions are tied to streaming and licensing milestones for up to five years after the anime premieres.

As the anime's success grows, creators receive more. Your participation supports the artists making GATE 2, not just your own rewards.

> This is the first program of its kind in anime.

For full details, see [Creator Reward Pool](/start-here/creator-reward-pool).

***

## Growing the Anime & Its Community

Making a great anime is one thing. Getting it in front of people is another. Both matter.

A portion of your contribution goes toward growing GATE 2's audience and strengthening the fan community through marketing campaigns, community events and activations, and promotional partnerships that bring in audiences who wouldn't find the anime on their own. It also supports ongoing platform development: new features, better tools for participation, and the infrastructure that keeps fans and creators connected throughout the campaign.

This matters because a larger, more engaged community leads to stronger streaming and wider licensing reach, which feeds directly back into the Creator Reward Pool. The fans who share the anime, participate in events, and bring in new supporters are expanding what GATE 2 can become.

# Creator Reward Pool

How Oshi's Creator Reward Pool directly compensates individual animators, directors, and production staff, and why the anime industry needs it.

The Creator Reward Pool is Oshi's system for ensuring the individual creators behind an anime, including directors, animators, designers, and writers, receive ongoing compensation and recognition beyond their standard production fees.

This is the first program of its kind in anime.

***

## Why this exists

Anime is a global industry worth billions. But the people who actually make it, the animators drawing thousands of frames, the directors shaping every scene, the designers creating characters that millions of fans love, often don't share in that success.

Here's how it typically works: a production committee funds an anime. The animation studio receives a production fee to make it. Within that budget, individual creators are paid for their work, usually on a per-cut or per-episode basis. When the anime airs and becomes a hit, the production committee members benefit from streaming deals, merchandise licensing, and distribution revenue. The studio may receive additional fees. But the individual animator who drew the key scene everyone screenshots? The episode director who made that one episode everyone talks about? They were paid months ago and moved on to the next project.

That's the standard model. It's how most anime you've watched was made.

It also means the industry is fragile. Studios operate on thin margins. When a studio struggles or closes, the creators who built its legacy are the first to feel it. The craft survives because talented people keep choosing to do this work despite the economics.

Oshi exists to help close that gap.

***

## What the Creator Reward Pool does

For GATE 2, Oshi has established a Creator Reward Pool funded by a portion of campaign contributions. It works on two levels:

**A minimum bonus for every eligible creator.** Regardless of how the anime performs, every verified creator in an eligible role receives direct compensation from the campaign. This is guaranteed from the moment fans participate.

**Ongoing distributions tied to the anime's success.** Beyond the minimum, creators receive additional distributions based on streaming and licensing milestones for up to five years after the anime's premiere. The better the anime does, the more creators receive.

This means the people who made the anime share in its long-term success, not just the companies that funded it.

***

## Who receives distributions

Individual creators who work on GATE 2 in eligible roles can receive distributions directly once they are verified through Oshi. This isn't a payment to a studio or production company. Each creator is individually verified before receiving any distributions.

### Roles we plan on including for GATE 2

* Director
* Assistant Director
* Episode Directors
* Animation Directors
* Key Animators
* Lead Script Writer
* Character Designer
* Line Producers

> These are key roles in animation whose craft defines what an anime looks and feels like. The Creator Reward Pool is designed to ensure their work is recognized not just during production, but for years after.

***

## How fans make this possible

The Creator Reward Pool is funded by a portion of campaign contributions. That means every fan who participates is directly supporting the creators behind the anime.

This isn't charity. It's a structural choice: Oshi believes the people who make anime should share in its success, and fans are the ones who make that possible.

The more the community grows, the larger the Creator Reward Pool becomes. More participants means more recognition for creators. Not just for GATE 2, but as proof that this model works for the entire industry.

***

## What makes this different

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FfhiJC7n2VN0WizehCHRk%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=1aa3554b-3185-4118-b139-edefd8960fb8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Traditional anime production:** Creators are paid during production. When the anime becomes a hit, revenue flows to production committee members. Individual creators rarely participate in the upside.

**With the Creator Reward Pool:** Creators are paid during production AND receive ongoing distributions tied to the anime's performance. For up to five years. Directly to them, not their studio.

No other anime platform, streaming service, or production model does this. The Creator Reward Pool is the first system that connects fan participation to individual creator compensation in anime.

***

## Why this matters beyond GATE 2

GATE 2 is the first anime to use the Creator Reward Pool. But the goal is bigger than one project.

If this model proves that fans will show up to directly support the people who make anime, not just consume the finished product, it changes the conversation for every future production. Studios can point to it. Creators can ask for it. Fans can expect it.

Oshi is building this as infrastructure, not a one-time gesture. Every future campaign on the platform can include a Creator Reward Pool, creating a new standard where the people who pour their craft into anime are recognized for years, not forgotten after delivery.

The anime industry has always run on passion. The Creator Reward Pool is designed to make sure that passion is rewarded.

***

## How the Creator Reward Pool grows

The Creator Reward Pool starts at 2.5% of campaign contributions and increases as the community reaches contribution milestones. The progression is linear, unlocking in six steps up to a maximum of 5%.

| Milestone | Total Contributions | Creator Fund Unlocked (out of 5%) |
| ---------- | ------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| 1st Goal   | $250,000            | 2.5%                              |
| 2nd Goal   | $300,000            | 3%                                |
| 3rd Goal   | $350,000            | 3.5%                              |
| 4th Goal   | $400,000            | 4%                                |
| 5th Goal   | $450,000            | 4.5%                              |
| Final Goal | $500,000            | 5%                                |

You can track progress toward these milestones in real time on the campaign Leaderboard page. Every contribution moves the community closer to the next unlock.

***

## Transparency

Creator Reward Pool distributions will be tracked on the Oshi platform. Fans will be able to see how the pool grows as the community expands and as the anime reaches audiences worldwide.

We believe fans who support creators deserve to see that their participation made a difference.

# Oshi Membership Rewards

Anime fans have always gone above and beyond for the shows they love. Fan art, cosplay, community threads, recommendations that bring in new viewers. Creators see this, and in Japan, oshikatsu (推し活) is recognized as one of the most meaningful forms of support. But there's never been an official way for the production side to say thank you.

As a production committee member, Oshi can change that. Oshi Membership Rewards (OMR) is how we recognize the community members who show up, participate, and help GATE 2 reach new fans.

Everyone earns Merit. Officers ranks (Lieutenant+) earn more. Victory Drops surprise everyone.

3,700+ contributors joined during our soft launch. Here's how the rewards work.

***

### How it works

Oshi rewards members for their community participation through programs to recognize and thank members for their community participation.

You earn recognition by participating: completing quests, engaging with the community, and helping spread the word about GATE 2.

This isn't just about how much you contribute financially. It's about how actively you show your support, your 推し活 (oshikatsu), the act of championing what you love.

***

### How you earn

| Program | Who | What You Do | What You Can Earn |
| ----------------------------- | ---------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------ |
| Merit Leaderboard | All members | Complete quests, create fan content, engage with the community | Quarterly rewards: vouchers, collectibles, experiences |
| Officer Rewards (Lieutenant+) | Lieutenant ranks and above ($250+) | Complete Officer Quests | Additional appreciation rewards, priority access |

#### Merit Leaderboard (All Members)

Every supporter can earn Merit Points by completing quests and engaging with the community. As production progresses, quests will span multiple effort levels, from quick activities like poll voting and content sharing to high-effort contributions like fan art, cosplay, AMVs, and community event organizing. The more you put in, the more Merit you earn.

Your position on the Merit Leaderboard reflects your participation. Top performers each quarter become eligible for rewards including vouchers, collectibles, and experiences.

This path is open to everyone, regardless of contribution tier. Your rank on the leaderboard depends on your activity, not your contribution amount.

→ [Merit Quests](/gate-2-campaign/merit-quests): Full breakdown of available quests and how to earn Merit

#### Officer Service Appreciation Program (Lieutenant+)

Members at Lieutenant rank ($250) or higher become Officers and unlock exclusive questlines tied to their tier.

Officer Quests go deeper than standard quests: providing feedback on production materials, testing new platform features, attending review sessions, and contributing insights that shape the campaign.

Officers who complete their questlines become eligible for additional appreciation rewards. These may include enhanced versions of Victory Drop items, priority access to experiences, or monetary equivalent rewards.

Officers are recognized within the community through distinct badges and may be highlighted in community announcements and events.

**The higher your rank, the more exclusive your questline and rewards.**

For Full Details, see [Officer Quests](/gate-2-campaign/officer-quests).

***

### Victory Drops

When official artwork, trailers, key visuals, or promotional campaigns achieve significant community milestones, Oshi may release surprise reward drops to the membership base.

These milestones are measured by social reach, fan interaction volume, and overall program enthusiasm.

**What Victory Drops can look like:**

* Rare physical collectibles: original production cels, resin statues, metal prop replicas
* Premium digital assets: master-grade animation files, director-signed digital items
* Exclusive experiences: studio tours, team dinners, private screenings in Japan
* Collaboration items: officially licensed merchandise from partnerships with brands and creators

Victory Drops are surprises, not guarantees. But when they happen, Captain and Admiral members receive first priority and the most exclusive items.

*Examples above represent the types of rewards we're planning. Actual Victory Drops may vary as the anime production progresses.*

***

### When rewards are distributed

Oshi rewards are determined by Oshi in its sole discretion but guided by the anime's production timeline. Here's what to expect:

**Now (quests are live once the campaign launches):** Start earning Merit Points. Social follows, referrals, and community quests are available on your campaign dashboard.

**As production progresses:** New quest types appear tied to trailers, key visuals, and production milestones. Officer Quests unlock for Lieutenant+ members.

**Closer to release (2027):** Quest activity ramps up significantly. Quarterly Merit rewards begin. Officer appreciation rewards are distributed.

Merit you earn now counts toward your leaderboard position when quarterly rewards begin. Early participants build an advantage that compounds over time.

***

### Key points and getting started

**Funded entirely by Oshi.** Rewards come from Oshi. GATE 2 production is fully funded and will be completed regardless of campaign participation.

**Activity determines rewards.** Your rank on the leaderboard comes from participation, not contribution amount. Show up, complete quests, engage with the community.

**Rewards are discretionary.** OMR is a benefits program, not a contractual promise. All rewards are issued at Oshi's sole discretion.

**Start now.** Begin earning Merit Points by completing quests on your campaign dashboard. If you're at Lieutenant rank or higher, your Officer Questline will become available as production progresses.

# MahoSeka: Coming Soon

Oshi's next project—a feature film grown from a viral YouTube short.

### The Story

Oshi's next project started as a short anime by a solo creator, and it's only getting bigger.

In the town of Urgalz, witches live quietly among ordinary people. But high above the rooftops, on an island that floats in silence, one witch lives far from the world below.

One rainy night, she finds a lost boy named Haru and brings him home. She sets a hot meal in front of him. She doesn't ask where he came from.

Days turn to weeks. The quiet between them softens.

But Sara harbors a secret she was never meant to share. One that will pull them both into a past the world would rather forget.

[Watch the original short on YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RxE_7uSDVg)

### About the Creator

*Living in a World without Magic* (MahoSeka) was created by Akiwashi as her university graduation project. She built nearly everything herself: the scenario, the animation, the visuals. What started as a student film went on to reach over 6 million viewers worldwide.

The project earned an award at the Akihabara International Film Festival and was adapted into a light novel published by Kadokawa, written by Mamoru Iwasa and praised by voice actress Ayane Sakura and Gom of HoneyWorks.

Akiwashi is an illustrator, animator, and storyteller who leads the creative team Euluca Lab. Her work blends melancholy, warmth, and imagination into dreamlike worlds. Euluca Lab's YouTube channel has surpassed 190,000 subscribers, and Akiwashi's following continues to grow.

### Why it's on Oshi

MahoSeka started with one artist and an audience that showed up because they believed in her work. Creator-driven, community-grown. That's the kind of story Oshi exists to support.

There's more to come. We'll share details when the time is right.

***

### Right now: GATE 2 is live

Oshi's first campaign is live right now. If you're curious what it looks like when fans show up for anime they believe in, GATE 2: Tides of Conflict is where it's happening.

Full details are on [GATE 2 Campaign](/gate-2-campaign/gate-2-overview).

GATE 2: Tides of Conflict is the next chapter in Takumi Yanai's GATE franchise. The original GATE anime built a dedicated global fanbase, with over 7.7 million light novels sold and an active community across platforms. GATE 2 expands that universe with a new story arc, following the Japan Self-Defense Forces as they undertake new missions across the troubled seas of a parallel world.

The anime is produced by Studio M2 (known for Pluto on Netflix) with GENCO as associate producer. GENCO also produced the original GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There. Oshi is a member of the production committee alongside Kasagi Labo, serving as the master licensing rights holder.

**Production roadmap:** [gate2.co](http://gate2.co)

***

### Why GATE 2

The GATE franchise has one of the most passionate fan communities in military fantasy anime. For years, fans have kept the series alive through fan fiction, original artwork, and creative explorations of the world of GATE. That energy made GATE a natural fit for Oshi's first campaign.

GATE 2 is Oshi's pilot campaign and the first membership-based program on the platform. We chose this project to build the foundation for how fans and creators connect on Oshi, with the goal of extending that model to future anime productions.

Oshi holds master licensing rights for GATE 2. That covers streaming, merchandise, marketing, distribution, and all future licensing across formats and territories. It also means direct access to content that rarely leaves the studio: storyboards, character design sketches, key animation frames, and director commentary.

> ⚓ **Campaign window: Feb 27 – May 27, 2026 (3 months)**

The campaign features seven naval-themed ranks from Seaman ($5) to Admiral ($10,000). Each rank unlocks its own set of rewards, including production art, digital and physical collectibles, and behind-the-scenes content delivered throughout the production period. Officer tiers (Lieutenant through Admiral) are only available during the campaign window and include credits placement, signed collectibles, and experiential rewards.

Every supporter is enrolled in the [Oshi Membership Rewards](/start-here/oshi-membership-rewards) (OMR) program, which includes three reward tracks: the Merit Leaderboard (all members), Officer Rewards with exclusive questlines (Lieutenant+), and Victory Drops tied to community milestones. A portion of every contribution also funds the [Creator Reward Pool](/start-here/creator-reward-pool), providing ongoing compensation directly to individual creators.

Production continues regardless of participation. The campaign is about access and connection, not whether the anime gets made.

# Understanding Ranks

Explore the 7 naval ranks from Seaman ($5) to Admiral ($10K). Learn how Valor points work and what each tier unlocks.

The GATE 2 campaign uses a naval-themed rank system designed by Oshi, inspired by the military themes of the GATE franchise. These ranks are part of the fan participation experience on Oshi's platform, not part of the anime itself.

Your rank reflects your support level. Higher ranks unlock more rewards and deeper access to the production. You can start at any level and increase your participation over time.

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FPM5w85NbiHcpXRDzeSrj%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=0296b96c-a344-4d45-8045-539aeaad3e9f" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

***

### How it works

Every contribution earns Valor Points, and your total Valor Points determine your rank. You don't have to commit to a single tier upfront. You can start at Seaman and increase your support over time, and your rank updates as your Valor Points grow.

Your dashboard tracks your current rank and progress toward the next one, so you always know where you stand.

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FsRhRcZBGSJ533m0rR6FV%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=cad59251-d7ca-4fd0-9f7d-892fc5d1db25" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For a detailed look at how Valor Points and Merit Points work, see [Valor & Merit Points](/gate-2-campaign/valor-and-merit-points).

***

### What ranks unlock

Rewards are cumulative through the lower and mid tiers: reaching Chief Petty Officer means you receive everything from Seaman and Petty Officer as well. At Officer tiers (Commander, Captain, Admiral), certain limited and experiential rewards are exclusive to their specific tier rather than carrying over. Each Officer rank receives its own version of credits placement and production collectibles.

At a high level:

**Seaman through Petty Officer ($5–$20):** Digital content including character reveals, rank emblems, production updates, and your name on the Commendation Board.

**Chief Petty Officer ($100):** Behind-the-scenes production insights, digital production collectibles, and a campaign-exclusive physical merch pack.

**Officer tiers ($250–$10,000):** Credits placement, one-of-a-kind production art, signed collectibles, Officer Quest Access, and experiential rewards. Background character cameos are available to Petty Officer and above through the [GATE 2 Cameo Raffle](/gate-2-campaign/gate-2-cameo-raffle).

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FBoIUa2CVYq5wkUKJ7P0v%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=4efb3976-c469-44e1-bf18-e6898714ba47" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For a complete item-by-item breakdown, see [Reward Details by Tier](/gate-2-campaign/reward-details-by-rank-tiers).

***

### Beyond ranks: Oshi Membership Rewards

Your rank determines what you unlock, but it's not the full picture. Every supporter is enrolled in [Oshi Membership Rewards](/start-here/oshi-membership-rewards) (OMR), which is where the ongoing experience lives.

OMR includes Victory Drops, community milestones, and for Officer tiers, exclusive quest participation. While your rank is set by your contribution level, OMR is what keeps the experience active throughout the campaign and beyond.

***

### Campaign window and deadlines

The campaign window runs from Feb 27 through May 27, 2026. During this period, all seven ranks are available and supporters can access the full reward experience, including physical merchandise, credit and cameo submissions, Officer Quest Access, and the Admiral tier.

Some rewards have specific deadlines tied to production schedules. For all key dates and a full comparison of campaign vs. post-campaign participation, see [Campaign Timeline](/gate-2-campaign/campaign-timeline).

***

### Do ranks expire?

Never. Your rank is permanently tied to your profile as proof you were part of GATE 2's creation.

After the campaign window closes on May 27, 2026:

**What stays yours:** Your rank, digital collectibles, production access, and all unlocked content remain in your account permanently.

**What closes:** Officer tiers (Lieutenant through Admiral) close for purchase. Campaign-exclusive rewards, including physical merchandise, credit submissions, and cameo submissions, are no longer available. These are tied to production deadlines and cannot be offered later.

**What continues:** Seaman through Chief Petty Officer remain open for new supporters with access to digital rewards and production content.

**What's ahead:** Ranks based on contribution level are one way to participate, but not the only way. We're building additional recognition paths based on community engagement, not just contributions. Details will be shared closer to the anime release.

***

### Important notes

**Officer tier availability.** Commander, Captain, and Admiral each have a limited number of seats per tier, filled first-come. Lieutenant is available subject to merchandise availability. Lower tiers (Seaman, Petty Officer, Chief Petty Officer) remain always open.

**Physical merchandise.** Produced one time for this campaign and not sold in retail. Final designs and fulfillment timing will be shared with members.

**Officer Quest Access.** Available at Lieutenant and above, tied to Oshi Membership Rewards.

**Limited quantities.** Some rewards are strictly limited (10, 50, or 100). First-come, first-served.

**Tier-exclusive rewards.** Certain limited and experiential rewards belong to a specific tier and do not carry over to higher tiers. Each Officer tier receives its own version of credits placement and physical production collectibles. See individual tier listings above for details.

**Digital collectibles.** Stored in your Oshi account and viewable within the platform. See [Digital Collectibles](/gate-2-campaign/digital-collectibles) for details on how they work.

**Physical rewards.** Ship together once manufacturing is complete. Shipping costs are separate. See [Physical Rewards](/gate-2-campaign/physical-rewards) for details.

What you see in your collection. After purchase, rewards appear in your Oshi profile under their collectible icon names (for example, "Supply Cargo" for the Collector's Merch Pack, "Recon Tablet" for Digital Production Collectibles, or "Signed Intel" for signed pieces). These names follow a military theme and do not reflect the actual anime production assets within.

***

### Limited reward availability

Some rewards have strict quantity limits (10, 50, or 100 available). The campaign page shows remaining availability in real time.

**Before you contribute:** If a limited reward at your selected tier has sold out, you'll see a notice before completing payment. You can choose to proceed with all other rewards at that tier, or select a different tier.

**Spots can reopen:** When a supporter upgrades to a higher rank, their previous limited reward may become available again. Reopened spots are filled from the waitlist on a first-come, first-served basis. If a reward you want is sold out, join the waitlist to hold your place in line.

# Digital Collectibles

Rank emblems, production assets, and behind-the-scenes access stored in your Oshi account. Learn about Oshi collectibles, GATE 2 production content, and backstage access by rank.

Digital collectibles are official content stored in your Oshi account: rank emblems, production assets from Studio M2, and behind-the-scenes access that brings you closer to how GATE 2 is being made.

***

### Oshi Collectibles

These are platform-wide items tied to your Oshi account and participation level.

#### Rank emblems

Every rank unlocks its own emblem design. These are cumulative: reaching Lieutenant gives you access to the Seaman, Petty Officer, Chief Petty Officer, and Lieutenant emblems. Your emblem displays on your profile and shows your participation level across Oshi campaigns.

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2F6Y6udWVhpPYBtjsbCU1S%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=4d82e398-7ff2-4288-93d1-9b0e56c301ef" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Profile cards

Each rank also unlocks a unique profile card design featuring GATE 2 artwork. Like emblems, these are cumulative as you progress. Your profile card becomes a permanent part of your Oshi identity.

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2Fs2ACjnaVFSVEaRuafMmy%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=d66f8d51-0f72-4cb8-b37d-6eb270559799" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### A note on Oshi collectibles

Rank emblems and profile cards are designed by Oshi to enhance your supporter experience. They are not official anime production art. Designs may be updated over time to better reflect the world of GATE 2 as production progresses.

***

### GATE 2 Production Collectibles

These are campaign-specific assets from the GATE 2 anime: character concept designs, behind-the-scenes artwork, and production content created during the making of the anime.

All supporters also receive the official campaign teaser visual as a bonus alongside their rank-specific content.

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FZZM79vw2TzHogTa7AQIb%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=3951ae9e-07f9-4a58-a450-3b75266ded2a" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### What you receive by rank

**Seaman and Petty Officer** receive character concept designs, giving you a window into the production design process.

**Chief Petty Officer and above** receive ongoing sets of digital production collectibles throughout the production period. These curated drops include character settei (model sheets), background art, prop and equipment designs, 3D model previews, and production process content.

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FAojCDRBjuFIK7nhwO8AC%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=997cdae7-8574-43a8-8ebf-d58b801cd1d0" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

New content is delivered as production progresses, continuing through the anime's release. Additional behind-the-scenes content may be shared after the anime airs. Higher ranks receive more comprehensive collections with each release.

#### Signed digital collectibles

At **Lieutenant and above**, you become eligible for signed digital production collectibles featuring creator signatures from the character designer, art director, or director. Signed pieces are distributed as special bonuses throughout the campaign, not with every drop.

#### Educational context

Every production asset includes context explaining how it's used in anime creation. You're learning how anime gets made through real production content from the studio.

***

### Backstage Access

Your rank also unlocks ongoing access to the production journey.

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FR0D6RNqBVOh4DQiO9Lwb%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a08b411c-0cb3-4040-ab9b-989956ec5406" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

**Production Updates** (Petty Officer and above) keep you informed on production milestones and campaign news.

**Production Insights** (Chief Petty Officer and above) go deeper into the creative process with behind-the-scenes looks at how specific scenes, characters, and episodes take shape.

**Officer Quests** (Lieutenant and above) are voluntary questlines exclusive to Officer-rank supporters. Each tier has its own questline, from voting on production decisions at Lieutenant to joining private review sessions at Admiral. Completing your questline increases your eligibility for Officer Service Appreciation rewards through the [Oshi Membership Rewards](/start-here/oshi-membership-rewards) program.

For full details on what each tier unlocks, see [Officer Quests](/gate-2-campaign/officer-quests).

***

### How digital collectibles work

Digital production collectibles from GATE 2 are stored in your Oshi account and viewable within the platform. They are tied to your account as a personal collection and cannot be downloaded, transferred, or resold outside Oshi.

Out of respect for the production studio and the creative work involved, these materials should not be shared or distributed outside the platform.

***

### Beyond digital: merchandise and recognition

Oshi holds master licensing rights for GATE 2, covering merchandise, marketing, distribution, and all future licensing across formats and territories. That means Oshi is the home for official GATE 2 merchandise collaborations and fan experiences.

Higher ranks unlock physical rewards including merchandise packs and production collectibles with authentic creator signatures. Officer ranks also earn recognition in the anime itself, from credits placement to background cameos.

For full details, see [Physical Rewards](/gate-2-campaign/physical-rewards) and [Experiential Rewards](/gate-2-campaign/experiential-rewards).

### Background character cameo

**Available to Petty Officer and above via the GATE 2 Cameo Raffle.**

Appear in GATE 2 as a non-speaking background character designed from a likeness or original character you submit. Winners are selected through a Valor-weighted raffle with 3 draws between March 30 and April 7, 2026.

Winners submit reference images (selfies, original characters, or VTuber models they own), and Studio M2's production team creates a character inspired by the submission.

> ⚠️ **Final reference submission deadline: April 10, 2026.** The production team needs this lead time to design and incorporate each character.

*Final character design, placement, screen time, and scene usage are at the production team's creative discretion. Cameo appearances are non-speaking background roles, and placement depends on the opportunities available throughout the series.*

Higher ranks may receive priority access to exclusive GATE 2 events as they become available. These could include early screenings, premiere events, community gatherings, creator interactions, and potentially a dedicated GATE art exhibition.

### Limited reward availability

Some experiential rewards have strict quantity limits (10, 50, or 100 available).

# Valor & Merit Points

How Oshi's point systems work: Valor points track contributions and determine rank. Merit points reward engagement activities.

Two point systems: Valor tracks contributions, Merit rewards community engagement.

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FMIP06qmQt9sWD1S29FNf%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=9092f865-dee4-496f-b809-3aa674d5d5ca" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

> **Key difference:** Valor is earned through money ($1 = 100 Valor). Merit is earned through activities. They don't convert into each other.

***

### Valor Points

Valor measures your campaign contributions and determines your rank.

Once you contribute and receive Valor Points, they cannot be sold, refunded, or converted back to cash. Valor is a one-way entry into the campaign.

**Conversion:** $1 USD = 100 Valor Points

| Rank                | Valor Required | Contribution |
| ------------------- | -------------- | ------------ |
| Seaman              | 500            | $5           |
| Petty Officer       | 2,000          | $20          |
| Chief Petty Officer | 10,000         | $100         |
| Lieutenant          | 25,000         | $250         |
| Commander           | 100,000        | $1,000       |
| Captain             | 250,000        | $2,500       |
| Admiral             | 1,000,000      | $10,000      |

> 📝 **Note:** Valor is campaign-specific. Your GATE 2 Valor is tracked separately from future campaigns.

***

### Merit Points

Merit recognizes community participation beyond financial contribution. You earn Merit by completing quests, referring new supporters, and engaging with the community.

**Launch quests include:**

* Following official accounts on X (@oshikatsu\_co, @gate\_anime, @gate\_animeEN)
* Joining the Oshi Discord
* Referring new supporters (Merit varies by the referred supporter's rank)
* Sending a personal note to the production team after contributing
* Sharing official content to social media

More quest types are planned during production, including creative challenges, community events, and fan art submissions.

> 💡 **Merit isn't purchasable.** You earn it through participation and engagement.

Your Merit position determines your placement on the Merit Leaderboard. Active participants become eligible for discretionary rewards through [Oshi Membership Rewards](/start-here/oshi-membership-rewards), which can include exclusive digital collectibles, early access to production drops, and community recognition.

For a full breakdown of available quests and how they work, see [Merit Quests](/gate-2-campaign/merit-quests).&#x20;

### Leaderboards

Both Valor and Merit have their own leaderboards visible on your campaign dashboard.

The **Valor Leaderboard** ranks supporters by total Valor Points. If two supporters have the same Valor, the person who contributed first ranks higher.

The **Merit Leaderboard** ranks supporters by total Merit Points earned through quests and engagement. Ties are also broken by first-come, first-served.

The top 3 on each leaderboard receive gold, silver, and bronze medal designations, visible on your profile and across the community. Your leaderboard positions update in real time as you earn points.

For full details on how the leader board works, see [Leaderboard](/gate-2-campaign/leaderboard):&#x20;

***

### Fine print

Valor and Merit Points are honorific and don't hold monetary value. They can't be transferred, exchanged, or cashed out. Point calculations may be adjusted over time as the platform evolves.

# Leaderboard

How the Valor Leaderboard works during the GATE 2 campaign. Real-time rankings, medal designations, and tie-breaking rules. Merit Leaderboard coming soon.

See where you stand. The leaderboard shows your real-time ranking based on your campaign contributions.

***

### Valor Leaderboard

The Valor Leaderboard is live during the GATE 2 campaign. It ranks supporters by total Valor Points, which reflect your campaign contributions ($1 = 100 Valor). This leaderboard shows who has contributed the most to GATE 2 and updates in real time as you earn points.

When the campaign ends, the Valor Leaderboard locks. Your final ranking and medal designation are preserved as a permanent record of your participation.

***

### Merit Leaderboard (coming soon)

A separate Merit Leaderboard will launch in the future alongside Oshi Membership Rewards and Merit Quests. It will rank supporters by total Merit Points earned through quests and community engagement, giving fans who may not be able to participate financially a meaningful way to support GATE 2 through oshikatsu: creating content, sharing the anime, engaging with the community, and celebrating the IP they love.

The Merit Leaderboard will feature seasonal rewards, though specifics are still in the planning phase. More details will be shared as development progresses.

***

### How rankings work

The Valor Leaderboard sorts supporters from highest to lowest points. If two supporters are tied with the same number of points, the person who reached that total first ranks higher (first-come, first-served).

The top 3 on the Valor Leaderboard receive special medal designations:

* **#1** Gold
* **#2** Silver
* **#3** Bronze

***

### What you see on the leaderboard

Each entry on the leaderboard displays:

* Rank position
* Username and profile avatar
* Current badge and star count
* Total Valor Points

You can find your own position on the leaderboard from your campaign dashboard.

***

### Live Contribution Tracker

Alongside the leaderboard, the campaign page features a live contribution tracker that shows overall campaign progress toward community milestones.

As total contributions grow, the tracker unlocks increasing levels of the Creator Reward Pool, which provides ongoing compensation directly to the individual creators behind GATE 2.

| Milestone | Total Contributions | Creator Fund Unlocked (out of 5%) |
| ---------- | ------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| 1st Goal   | $250,000            | 2.5%                              |
| 2nd Goal   | $300,000            | 3%                                |
| 3rd Goal   | $350,000            | 3.5%                              |
| 4th Goal   | $400,000            | 4%                                |
| 5th Goal   | $450,000            | 4.5%                              |
| Final Goal | $500,000            | 5%                                |

The progress bar and milestones update in real time. Every contribution moves the tracker forward.

# Referrals

How to refer friends to the GATE 2 campaign. Find your referral link, share it, and earn Merit Points when your friends contribute.

Share the GATE 2 campaign with friends who'd enjoy it. When someone joins through your referral link and contributes, you both earn Merit Points.

***

### How it works

1. **You share your referral link or code** with a friend.
2. **Your friend signs up and makes a contribution** to the GATE 2 campaign.
3. **You both earn Merit Points.** The referrer and the referred supporter each receive Merit once the contribution is confirmed.

Merit Points earned through referrals count toward your position on the [Merit Leaderboard](/gate-2-campaign/leaderboard) and your eligibility for [Oshi Membership Rewards](/start-here/oshi-membership-rewards).

> 💡 Both you and the person you refer must be contributors to earn referral Merit. Your friend needs to make at least one contribution for either of you to receive points.

***

### Finding your referral link

Your referral link becomes available once you've contributed to the campaign. There are two ways to access it:

**After contributing:** Your referral link and code appear in a pop-up right after you complete a contribution. You can copy the link or share it directly from there.

**From your profile:** Click the **Earn Merit** button (top right corner on any page) to open your referral details. You'll see your unique link and code, along with sharing options.

Each supporter has a unique referral code tied to their account.

***

### Sharing options

You can share your referral link through:

* X (Twitter)
* Discord
* WhatsApp
* Telegram
* Copy link (paste anywhere)

***

### Entering a referral code

If you signed up through a friend's referral link, you're already connected and no extra step is needed.

If you signed up without a referral link, you can still enter your friend's referral code in your **profile settings** to claim referral credit. You'll need to be a contributor for the referral to count.

***

### How much Merit do referrals earn?

The Merit you earn as a referrer depends on the rank your referred friend joins at. Higher ranks earn more Merit for both parties.&#x20;

See the full breakdown on the [Merit Quests](/gate-2-campaign/merit-quests) page.

***

### Tips

**Share with friends who'd genuinely enjoy GATE 2.** Referrals work best when you're connecting real fans to something they'll love.

**Your referral link works across platforms.** Copy it once and share it wherever your community hangs out.

**Check your Merit balance.** Referral Merit is awarded once your friend's contribution is confirmed. You can track your total on your profile.

# Merit Quests

Merit Points are earned through quests and community engagement. They complement Valor Points (which are earned through contributions) and give every fan a way to climb the leaderboard, earn recognition, and become eligible for Oshi Membership Rewards.

***

### How quests work

Quests are activities that earn you Merit Points. Some are one-time tasks (like following an account), while others can be repeated (like referring new supporters).

Each quest awards a set number of Merit Points when completed. Your total Merit determines your position on the Merit Leaderboard.

> 💡 Merit Points cannot be purchased. They can only be earned through participation.

***

### Launch quests

The following quests are available from the start of the GATE 2 campaign.

#### Social follows (one-time)

Follow the official accounts to earn Merit and stay connected to campaign updates.

* Follow @gate\_anime on X (GATE JP)
* Follow @gate\_animeEN on X (GATE EN)
* Follow @oshikatsu\_co on X (Oshi)
* Join the Oshi Discord

Each follow quest can be completed once and awards a small Merit bonus.

#### Community comment (one-time)

Leave a message for the creators after making your contribution. This is your chance to share why you're supporting GATE 2 directly with the people making it.

#### Referrals

Refer new supporters to the GATE 2 campaign. The Merit you earn scales with the rank your referred supporter joins at.

| Referred supporter's rank | Merit earned by referrer |
| -------------------------- | ------------------------ |
| Seaman ($5)                | 10                       |
| Petty Officer ($20)        | 15                       |
| Chief Petty Officer ($100) | 25                       |
| Lieutenant ($250)          | 50                       |
| Commander ($1,000)         | 75                       |
| Captain ($2,500)           | 150                      |
| Admiral ($10,000)          | 250                      |

As a referred user, you also earn Merit (30 points) when you join through a referral link and make a contribution.

> Referral rewards are capped at 25 referrals per user.

### What's coming

In Japan, oshikatsu (推し活), the act of championing what you love, is recognized as one of the most meaningful forms of fan support. Fans have always gone above and beyond for the anime they care about: creating art, building communities, spreading the word, showing up. Oshi's quest system is built to recognize that energy and give it a home.

As the campaign and production progress, new quest types will be introduced across three effort levels. The examples below represent the kinds of activities we're exploring. Not all of them will become quests, and others not listed here may be added. Merit rewards will scale to match the effort involved.

> 🎌 Many of these quest types, especially those tied to episode content and fan creation, will become available closer to the anime's airing so fans can engage with the story directly. You'll be notified as each quest launches.

#### Low-effort examples

Quick, repeatable actions that keep you connected and earning Merit consistently.

<table><thead><tr><th width="241.30859375">Quest</th><th>What you do</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Poll Voting</td><td>Vote in weekly character polls, scene polls, or community questions</td></tr><tr><td>Trivia Quizzes</td><td>Answer short lore or episode trivia questions each week</td></tr><tr><td>Content Sharing</td><td>Share official trailers, key visuals, or campaign content to your social channels when new materials drop</td></tr><tr><td>Tag &#x26; Hashtag</td><td>Use campaign hashtags or tag Oshi on your personal posts about GATE 2</td></tr><tr><td>Upvote Fan Content</td><td>Like or upvote fellow fans' posts, art, or theories on the platform</td></tr></tbody></table>

#### Medium-effort examples

Active participation that involves creativity, discussion, and showing up for the community.

<table><thead><tr><th width="246.19140625">Quest</th><th>What you do</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Episode Discussions</td><td>Post thoughtful comments in episode discussion threads after each episode drops</td></tr><tr><td>Lore &#x26; Theory Threads</td><td>Contribute original insights or predictions to fan theory discussions</td></tr><tr><td>Fan Art Sketches</td><td>Submit a fan art sketch of a favorite character or scene</td></tr><tr><td>Livestream &#x26; Watch Parties</td><td>Join official livestreams, cast interviews, or synchronized watch parties</td></tr></tbody></table>

#### High-effort examples

Prestige milestones for fans who go above and beyond. These carry the highest Merit rewards and may unlock unique badges.

<table><thead><tr><th width="244.75390625">Quest</th><th>What you do</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Polished Fan Art</td><td>Create a fully finished fan art piece and submit it to the official gallery</td></tr><tr><td>Cosplay Creation</td><td>Cosplay as a GATE 2 character and share photos</td></tr><tr><td>AMV or Fan Video</td><td>Produce a fan-made video and share it with the community</td></tr><tr><td>Community Event Organizer</td><td>Propose, plan, and host a community-driven event</td></tr><tr><td>Convention or IRL Event</td><td>Attend a real-world event related to GATE 2 or Oshi and check in</td></tr></tbody></table>

Everything listed above is an idea or concept we'd love to bring into the platform as we progress. Oshi is building a home for fandom, and the quest system will grow alongside it. All examples are subject to change, and the final quest lineup may look different as we learn what resonates most with the community. Specific quests, Merit values, and availability will be announced as each becomes available.

***

### Tips

**Start with the basics.** Social follows and the community comment are the quickest way to start earning Merit.

**Use your referral link.** Referrals are one of the highest-Merit activities available at launch, and both you and the person you refer earn points.

**Check back regularly.** New quests will be added throughout the campaign and into the anime's airing period.

# Officer Quests

What Officer Quests are, what each tier unlocks, and how completing them connects to Officer Service Appreciation rewards.

***

Members at Lieutenant rank ($250) and above are Officers, and Officers get access to something no other tier has: questlines designed to amplify GATE 2's reach and strengthen the community around it.

Officer Quests are voluntary activities tailored to your tier. They focus on helping GATE 2 find its audience through promotion, community engagement, and campaign feedback. The higher your rank, the more direct your involvement.

> 📅 Officer Quests are expected to become available closer to the anime's airing. The exact launch timing has not been confirmed. You'll be notified when your questline is ready.

***

### The access ladder

Every Officer tier has its own questline, and each one gives you a bigger role in growing GATE 2.

At **Lieutenant**, you amplify the campaign by sharing content and rallying your communities around GATE 2. At **Commander**, you evaluate campaign materials and provide feedback that helps shape how GATE 2 is presented. At **Captain**, you collaborate directly with the Oshi team on promotional strategy and community initiatives. At **Admiral**, you join private sessions with Oshi leadership to provide strategic input on the campaign's direction.

This isn't symbolic. These are **real activities with real impact** on how GATE 2 reaches its audience.

> The quest activities described on this page are examples of what we're building toward, not a finalized list. As the campaign progresses, specific quests may be added, adjusted, or replaced to better serve the community and the anime's growth. The access level and intent behind each tier will remain consistent.

Officer Quests are part of the [Oshi Membership Rewards](/start-here/oshi-membership-rewards) program. Completing your questline increases your eligibility for Officer Service Appreciation rewards.

***

### Lieutenant Quests

**Your role:** Front-line promoters who amplify GATE 2's visibility.

Lieutenants are the campaign's first wave. Your quests focus on spreading the word and showing the team what resonates with real audiences.

**Example quest activities:**

**Campaign Promotion Challenge:** Share specific campaign visuals, trailers, or content across your social channels and communities. Document the reach and response. You're helping GATE 2 find new fans.

**Community Feedback Report:** Gather and submit structured feedback from fan discussions or social channels about the campaign experience. Your observations help the team understand what's landing and what needs attention.

**Social Listening Summary:** Monitor fan sentiment across communities and compile a report on what audiences are saying about GATE 2. Your insights help the team stay connected to the conversation.

***

### Commander Quests

**Your role:** Trusted advisors who evaluate and improve the campaign experience.

Commanders go beyond promotion into hands-on evaluation. You review campaign materials before they go wide and your feedback shapes what gets released.

**Example quest activities:**

**Campaign Material Review:** Evaluate key visuals, messaging, or promotional assets from a supporter's perspective and provide structured feedback. Your input helps refine how GATE 2 is presented to the world.

**Platform Feature Feedback:** Test new campaign features or platform experiences and submit detailed observations. Your perspective as an active supporter helps us build a better experience for everyone.

**Content Performance Review:** Analyze how campaign materials land with audiences and recommend adjustments. Your evaluation helps the team understand what's working and where to improve.

***

### Captain Quests

**Your role:** Strategic contributors who help shape how GATE 2 reaches its audience.

Captains move from evaluation into direct collaboration with the Oshi team on promotional strategy and community growth.

**Example quest activities:**

**Partnership Scouting:** Recommend and evaluate potential fan creators or influencers for collaborations. Your knowledge of the community helps Oshi find the right voices to amplify GATE 2.

**Campaign Strategy Session:** Join an online session with the Oshi team to review campaign performance and provide strategic recommendations on outreach, messaging, and community initiatives.

**Community Initiative Proposal:** Design and pitch a fan-driven event or activation for Oshi to consider. Your creativity and community knowledge help shape how GATE 2 engages its audience beyond the campaign page.

***

### Admiral Quests

**Your role:** Executive-level supporters providing strategic direction.

Admirals have the highest level of access in the program. Your questline involves direct interaction with Oshi's leadership team.

**Example quest activities:**

**Quarterly Review Board:** Join private sessions with Oshi's team to provide direct input on campaign direction, community strategy, and platform improvements. This is the closest any supporter gets to the decision-making process.

**Campaign Debrief Report:** Reflect on campaign results and propose actionable improvements for future releases. Your insights help shape not just GATE 2, but how Oshi approaches future anime projects.

**One-on-One Strategy Session:** Participate in a private call with a member of the Oshi team to share product feedback, campaign observations, or strategic recommendations. Your perspective at this level directly informs how the campaign evolves.

***

### How Officer Quests connect to rewards

Officer Quests are part of the Oshi Membership Rewards program. Completing your questline is how Officers become eligible for Officer Service Appreciation rewards. These rewards correspond to your rank and are not guaranteed.

The higher your rank and the more quests you complete, the more you may be eligible to receive. Officers who consistently engage with their questlines demonstrate exactly the kind of participation OMR is designed to recognize.

For full details on OMR, see [Oshi Membership Rewards](/start-here/oshi-membership-rewards).

***

### Key points

**Quests are voluntary.** Officer Quests are optional activities, but completing them is how Officers become eligible for their Officer Service Appreciation rewards.

**Activities evolve with the campaign.** The quest activities on this page are examples, not a finalized list. Specific quests may be added, adjusted, or replaced over time to better serve the community and the anime's growth.

**All appreciation rewards are discretionary.** Officer Service Appreciation rewards are issued at Oshi's sole discretion and are not guaranteed.

# GATE 2 Cameo Raffle

***

### 🎬 The GATE 2 Cameo Raffle is complete.

**Draw 1**

* sieno
* oomerice

**Draw 2**

* pacificphantom
* shtai

**Draw 3 (Final)**

* steventran
* scotty
* raidyn

All winners have been confirmed and are now part of the production process.

We originally planned for 6 cameo spots, but for the final draw we opened it up to 7. Thank you to everyone who participated in this raffle. Even if you weren't selected this time, your support for GATE 2 has been incredible, and we hope you look forward to seeing these characters come to life when the anime airs.

***

*The information below describes how the raffle worked for reference.*

***

### How the Raffle Works

We're giving 6 cameo spots to the GATE 2 community through a weighted raffle. Your Valor determines your entries: every 1,000 Valor you've earned on the GATE 2 campaign counts as 1 raffle entry.

More Valor means better odds, but every eligible supporter has a real chance at landing a spot.

Here's how entries break down by tier:

| Tier                | Valor   | Raffle Entries |
| ------------------- | ------- | -------------- |
| Petty Officer       | 2,000   | 2 entries      |
| Chief Petty Officer | 10,000  | 10 entries     |
| Lieutenant          | 25,000  | 25 entries     |
| Commander           | 100,000 | 100 entries    |
| Captain             | 250,000 | 250 entries    |

We take a snapshot of all contributor standings before each draw. Your total Valor at the time of the snapshot determines your entries for that round.

***

### Who's Eligible

To be eligible for the raffle, you need to be at **Petty Officer tier or above** on the GATE 2 campaign.

**Petty Officer and above:** You're in. You'll be automatically entered into every draw.

**Seaman tier:** Upgrade to Petty Officer or above on [gate2.co](http://gate2.co) before the next draw date to become eligible.

**New to GATE 2?** Join the campaign at [gate2.co](http://gate2.co) at Petty Officer or above before any draw date, and you'll be entered into that draw and all future rounds.

***

### Draw Schedule

Winners are drawn in three rounds, with 2 winners per draw. All winners are announced on Discord, X/Twitter, and notified on the platform via the Deployment Order collectible and email (or via your signup platform if no email on file).

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FowwXwnBtg1saFHrekmHN%2FCameo_Raffle_2.png?alt=media&amp;token=136aa4da-e4cc-40ed-945c-83a255cb3a62" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

| Draw           | Date                 | Winners   | Submit By                             |
| -------------- | -------------------- | --------- | ------------------------------------- |
| Draw 1         | Monday, March 30 JST | 2 winners | 48 hours (additional refs by April 8) |
| Draw 2         | Friday, April 3 JST  | 2 winners | 48 hours (additional refs by April 8) |
| Draw 3 (Final) | Monday, April 7 JST  | 2 winners | 48 hours (additional refs by April 9) |

A snapshot of contributor standings is taken before each draw. If you earn more Valor or upgrade your tier before a snapshot, your new entry count applies to that draw and all future draws.

**How it works when you win:**

1. **We'll reach out to you.** Winners receive the Deployment Order collectible on the platform. If you have an email on file, we'll also send you a notification email with the character reference submission form. If you signed up via X or Discord, we'll reach out on that platform.
2. **Submit within 48 hours to confirm your spot.** Complete the character reference submission form with your desired character name, reference images, and details within 48 hours. Submitting the form confirms your spot. If we don't receive a submission within 48 hours, the unclaimed spot rolls over to the next draw. For example, if a Draw 1 winner doesn't submit by the deadline, Draw 2 will select an additional winner to fill that spot alongside the 2 new Draw 2 winners.
3. **Image submission deadlines.** Draw 1 and Draw 2 winners have until **April 8** to finalize any additional references. Draw 3 winners have until **April 9** since the final draw is close to the production deadline.

This rapid-fire schedule gives us built-in windows to fill any unclaimed spots before the production deadline.

**April 10, 2026** is the hard production deadline. Draw 1 and Draw 2 winners must submit references by April 8. Draw 3 winners must submit by April 9. This gives the production team the lead time they need, and these dates cannot be extended.

***

### What Happens When You Win

**Step 1: We reach out.** Winners receive the Deployment Order collectible on the platform. We'll contact you with the character reference submission form via email if you have one on file, or through the platform you signed up with (X or Discord).

**Step 2: Complete the submission form (within 48 hours).** The form collects everything in one place: your desired character name, reference images, height, and styling notes. Submitting the form confirms your spot. If we don't receive your submission within 48 hours, the spot is redrawn. We'll also celebrate each winner publicly on Discord and X/Twitter.

Draw 1 and Draw 2 winners can update or add additional references until **April 8**. Draw 3 winners have until **April 9**. Here's what you'll need:

* Your **name,** will appear in the credits of the episode your cameo appears in,\
  as credit for likeness usage rights.
* A **waist-up photo** of yourself, facing the camera
* A **three-quarter angle photo** (turn slightly to one side so the camera captures both your front and side profile)
* Your **height** (or your desired character height, within average human proportions)
* Any styling notes: clothing preferences, accessories, hairstyle, expression, or how you'd like your character to appear

The submission form includes a character height sheet reference so you can see exactly what the production team works from. Your photos don't need to be professional. Clear selfies with good lighting work great.

**What you can submit:**

* **Your own likeness.** Selfies, personal photos, or written descriptions of how you'd like to appear.
* **Your original character or VTuber model.** If you have an original character (OC) or VTuber avatar that you created or own the rights to, you can submit it as your reference. By doing so, you confirm that you own the intellectual property and grant Oshi and the GATE 2 production team permission to use your design as creative reference for the anime. You retain full ownership of your original character or VTuber model. The in-anime character will be a new work created by Studio M2, inspired by your submission.

**What you cannot submit:** Images of copyrighted characters from other anime, manga, games, or other media that you do not own. The production team cannot reference designs that belong to another IP.

**Step 3: The team brings you to life.** Studio M2's production team designs a background character inspired by your submission, styled to fit the world of GATE 2. This is a creative process, and final character designs are entirely at the studio's creative discretion. Your in-anime appearance may differ from your reference. The goal is a character that feels at home in the GATE 2 world while being inspired by you.

**Please note:** Cameo appearances are non-speaking background roles. Your character's placement, screen time, and specific scene will depend on the opportunities available throughout the series. The production team will determine where and how your character appears to best fit the story.

After you submit, our team will follow up via email with updates on your character's progress.

***

### Your Raffle Status

**Petty Officer and above:** You're automatically entered into every draw. No action needed. Our goal is to celebrate the fans and early supporters who've made this campaign possible. If you want to improve your odds, you can continue to climb the ranks or refer friends to join the campaign before the next snapshot.

**Seaman tier:** Upgrade to Petty Officer or above on [gate2.co](http://gate2.co) before the next draw date to meet the minimum eligibility.

**New recruits:** Join the GATE 2 campaign at [gate2.co](http://gate2.co) at Petty Officer or above before any draw date to be eligible for that round and all future draws.

Your entries carry across all remaining draws. Earning Valor before Draw 1 means your entries count for all three rounds.

***

### Frequently Asked Questions

**Can I win more than once?**

No. Once you've won a cameo spot, you're removed from future draws so more fans get a chance.

**What if I upgrade my tier between draws?**

Your new Valor count takes effect at the next snapshot. If you upgrade before Draw 2's snapshot, you'll have more entries for Draw 2 and Draw 3.

**What happens if a winner doesn't respond?**

If a winner doesn't complete the submission form within 48 hours, the unclaimed spot rolls over to the next draw. The next round will draw additional winners to fill any unclaimed spots from previous rounds alongside the regular 2 new winners. This keeps things moving and makes sure every cameo spot goes to a fan who's ready to participate.

**What if I can't submit my reference images in time?**

Draw 1 and Draw 2 winners must submit images by April 8, 2026. Draw 3 winners must submit by April 9, 2026. If you win but can't submit by your deadline, your spot may be reassigned. The production team needs lead time before the April 10 hard deadline, so these dates are firm.

**What photos do I need to prepare?**

A waist-up photo facing the camera, a three-quarter angle shot (slightly turned to one side), and your height. You can also include styling notes and preferences. The submission form includes a reference image so you'll know exactly what's needed. Clear selfies are fine.

**Can I submit my original character or VTuber model instead of a selfie?**

Yes, as long as you own the rights to the design. By submitting an original character or VTuber model, you confirm ownership and grant Oshi and the GATE 2 production team permission to use it as creative reference. You keep full ownership of your original design. The in-anime character is a separate work created by Studio M2, inspired by your submission.

**Can I submit an image of a character from another anime or game?**

No. We cannot accept copyrighted characters that you don't own. This includes characters from other anime, manga, games, or any media. The production team needs to create an original character that fits the GATE 2 world.

**Will I get to approve my character design?**

The production team will do their best to honor your reference, but final designs are at Studio M2's creative discretion. Your character will appear as a non-speaking background character, styled to fit the GATE 2 world. Even with a great reference, the final result may look different to match the anime's art style and setting. Placement, screen time, and scene selection depend on the opportunities available throughout the series.

**How are winners announced?**

Winners are celebrated on Discord and X/Twitter after each draw. Winners receive the Deployment Order collectible on the platform. We reach out with the submission form via email if available, or through your signup platform (X/Discord).

**I'm at Seaman tier. Can I upgrade to become eligible?**

Yes. Upgrade to Petty Officer or above on [gate2.co](http://gate2.co) before the next snapshot date and you'll be entered into all remaining draws.

**How will you contact me if I win?**

If you have an email on file, we'll send you a notification email with the submission form link. If you signed up via X or Discord, we'll reach out on that platform. Either way, you'll also receive the Deployment Order collectible on the platform.

### Accepted payment methods

<table><thead><tr><th width="189.08203125">Method</th><th width="138.484375">Provider</th><th>Details</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Credit/Debit Cards</td><td>Stripe</td><td>Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Apple Pay, Google Pay</td></tr><tr><td>Crypto</td><td>Depay</td><td>USDC on Solana and Ethereum Network<br>$ANIME, $ARB (1.5% conversion fee)</td></tr><tr><td>Vouchers</td><td>Oshi</td><td>Redeem for Valor Points (no conversion fee)</td></tr></tbody></table>

The minimum contribution is $5 USD.

#### Credit/Debit Cards and Digital Wallets (via Stripe)

Pay with any major card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. All transactions are processed in USD.

#### Cryptocurrency (via Depay)

Accepted tokens: $ANIME (Arbitrum, Ethereum), USDC (Solana, Ethereum), $ARB (Arbitrum). All crypto is converted to USDC at the time of transaction, with a 1.5% conversion fee applied automatically.

Oshi accepts cryptocurrency strictly as a payment method. We do not airdrop, distribute, or reward users in volatile or non-stable tokens. All contributions are converted to USDC and go directly toward supporting the campaign and its creators. If you've been looking for a reason to put your tokens to work, this is it.

**Paying with $ANIME**

Oshi supports $ANIME payments on both Arbitrum and Ethereum networks through DePay.

> **💡 Having trouble paying with $ANIME?**
>
> DePay processes $ANIME payments through token swaps, which means the exact amount needed can fluctuate slightly during checkout. If you see a "Not Enough Funds" error, it doesn't always mean you're short — the swap may need a small buffer to complete.
>
> **What to try:**
>
> **Add a buffer.** Hold slightly more $ANIME than the checkout amount to account for swap fluctuations. A 5–10% buffer is usually enough.
>
> **Switch to Ethereum.** $ANIME is accepted on both Ethereum and Arbitrum, but Ethereum typically has better liquidity for swaps. If your transaction isn't going through on one network, try the other.
>
> **Try again.** Swap success depends on available liquidity at the time of the transaction. If it fails once, waiting a moment and retrying can work.
>
> If the issue persists, contact us at <support@oshi.co> or reach out on [Discord](https://discord.gg/oshi).

**$ANIME and $ARB Emblem**

$ANIME and $ARB supporters will each earn an exclusive Emblem on their Oshi profile as part of a mid-campaign update. You'll be notified when it's in your collectibles.

#### Voucher Coupons

Voucher codes are distributed through promotions, partnerships, and Discord community events. Each code has a set Valor Point value. To redeem, enter your code during the contribution flow.

Voucher redemptions count toward your rank progression and referral Merit. However, vouchers do not count toward the Live Contribution Tracker milestones on the Leaderboard.

### How contributions work

<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2Fg1yv6i02MTrsKmvGQJ0q%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=a244ea08-c51b-418c-bc43-50f976791a1d" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

When you contribute, the platform auto-fills the amount needed to reach your selected tier based on your current Valor Points. For example, if you have 500 Valor and want to reach Petty Officer (2,000 Valor), the amount will default to the difference.

You can also enter a custom amount, as long as it meets the $5 minimum.

After your payment is confirmed, you'll see a one-time contribution message prompt. You can write a personal message, use the pre-filled option, or skip it entirely. Your message appears on the campaign's contribution stream. Each account gets one message.

***

### Transaction processing

All Valor Points and rewards update immediately on successful payment. You'll see a real-time status indicator (Processing, Success, or Error) and a confirmation showing your updated rank and points.

> 📝 **Rewards not appearing?** Wait 5 minutes, then contact support if they still don't show.

***

When reporting a bug, include as much of the following as you can. The more detail you provide, the faster we can identify and resolve the issue.

**What happened:** A clear description of the problem.

**What you expected:** What should have happened instead.

**Steps to reproduce:** The actions that led to the bug, in order. Even something like "I clicked the rank badge on my profile and the page went blank" helps.

**Screenshots or screen recordings:** Visual evidence is the single most helpful thing you can include.

**Device and browser:** For example, "Chrome on Windows 11" or "Safari on iPhone 15."

**Your account email:** So we can look into your specific account.

> 📝 **Copy and paste this template when reporting a bug:**

```
Bug: [Describe what went wrong]
Expected: [What should have happened]
Steps: [How to reproduce]
Device/Browser: [e.g. Chrome on Mac]
Email: [Your account email]
# Refund Policy
Oshi's refund and dispute policy. All contributions are final. Learn about chargebacks and how disputes are handled.
All contributions to the GATE 2 campaign are final. Once you participate, that decision is permanent.
<figure><img src="https://2612956370-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FsHO2CVanSsqKtCJtf53U%2Fuploads%2FtIHczsoFTyQznkrhGOrr%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=bca34932-10fb-4346-a682-603d1b10cc82" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
> ⚠️ **Contributions are non-refundable.** Please review rewards and pricing carefully before participating.
***
### Why no refunds
When you participate, several things happen immediately: your rank progresses, rewards are allocated to your account, your position in the community is established, and resources are committed to fulfilling your rewards.
Because these systems activate right away, contributions can't be reversed. We recommend reviewing the campaign page and reward details before participating so you feel confident in your decision.
To understand exactly where your contribution goes, see [Where Do Your Contributions Go?](/start-here/where-do-your-contributions-go).
***
### What if something goes wrong
**Payment error (charged but nothing received):** Contact support immediately. We'll investigate and make it right.
**Changed your mind:** We understand, but the contribution still stands. Take time to think through your decision before participating.
**Rewards not arriving:** That's different from a refund issue. Contact support and we'll track down what's happening with your specific rewards.
**Discovered a regional restriction after contributing:** Some rewards (such as OMR distributions) may have eligibility restrictions by region. See [Regional Availability](/help-and-support/payments-and-transactions#regional-availability) on the Payments and Transactions page for details. If you believe you were affected, contact support.
> 📝 **We're here to help** with any issues, but the contribution itself is final once made.
***
### Disputes and chargebacks
**Contribution disputes:** If a contribution is cancelled or disputed, all corresponding Valor Points, Merit, and rewards will be removed. This means your rank will drop, any digital collectibles tied to that rank will be revoked, and access to rank-exclusive benefits (such as Officer Quests or Discord channels) will be lost.
**Chargebacks:** Handled per card network rules. If a chargeback is successful, Valor Points are revoked and all associated ranks, rewards, and benefits are forfeited.
Disputes and chargebacks affect your full account standing, not just the specific transaction.
# Oshi Docs
## Vision & Mission
Anime is more than just entertainment - it’s a global phenomenon that transcends cultures, bringing fans together through its distinctive art, rich storytelling, and unforgettable characters. Yet, despite its worldwide success, the anime industry remains bound by traditional systems that limit access, innovation, and creative autonomy.
While platforms like Kickstarter transformed indie games, and Patreon enabled creators to connect with their communities, anime still lacks a dedicated space where fans can meaningfully **support, engage with, and be part of the journey** behind the stories they love.
That’s where Oshi comes into play.
## Our Vision
We envision a world where anime is more than something you watch, **it’s something you’re part of**. Where fans aren’t just spectators, they’re part of its evolution. A globally connected, creator-first ecosystem where fans and studios navigate the future of anime together.
Where creators have the freedom to tell their stories, and fans can follow along and support the journey, from the first sketch to the final scene.
## Our Mission
We’re creating the infrastructure that enables:
* Fans to not just support, but rise with the stories they believe in - part of their journey and success.
* Creators to retain ownership, access sustainable support, and maintain lasting creative control.
* An industry evolving beyond gatekeeping - toward openness, collaboration, and shared purpose.
Stories grow through connection - when they’re supported, shared, and seen.
Oshi is the spark that brings anime’s next chapter to life, and **we’re all part of where it goes next.**
## **Shaping a New Era of Anime**
Anime is at a turning point. Despite its global success, the industry still operates within traditional systems that limit access, innovation, and the potential for deeper fan engagement. Studios face structural challenges in securing financial support, and fans remain passive consumers rather than active participants.\
Oshi offers a new path forward. With a foundation of transparency and shared participation, Oshi removes industry barriers and gives both fans and creators the power to shape the future of anime - no more middlemen, no more gatekeepers.
**Oshi offers a new path forward.** With a foundation of transparency and decentralization, Oshi removes industry barriers and gives both fans and creators the power to shape the future of anime - no more middlemen, no more barriers.
### How Oshi Changes the Anime Journey
* Fans Become Contributors → Move beyond viewership. Support the anime you believe in, follow its progress, and play a visible role in its growth from early development to release.
* Creators Gain Freedom → Maintain creative control, build momentum with direct fan support, and reach a global audience without sacrificing vision.
* Clearer Paths to Success → Earlier signals of audience interest help studios and partners identify high-potential projects sooner and scale them with greater confidence.
### **Together, Stories and Communities Rise**
At Oshi, contribution means more than support - it’s a way to shape which anime IPs succeed and stand alongside them as they grow. When the stories you believe in succeed, your impact is part of that success. You’re not just witnessing the journey - you’re helping drive it, and your early support is recognized as part of what made it possible.
### **Ready to Shape the Future of Anime?**
Oshi is your invitation. Support meaningful anime, contribute to its journey, and be part of a new era - where stories are not just told, but nurtured by those who care most.
\
Don’t wait for change. Help shape it with Oshi.
# Oshi Overview
**Oshi is where anime’s future unfolds**. It’s guided by creators, supported by fans, and open to all who believe in the journey.
We’re building an open foundation for participation. Not as an end, but as a means to empowerment. One that makes anime more participatory, globally accessible, and rewarding for those who help shape its future.
At its core, Oshi unlocks a more dynamic ecosystem where creators can reach their audience directly, fans can play a meaningful role in early growth, and licensees can identify high-potential titles earlier and with greater confidence. The result is more efficiency, more opportunity, and better alignment across the entire anime value chain.
### **What Oshi Makes Possible**
* **For creators**, Oshi offers global reach, creative autonomy, and a more transparent, rewarding path to build momentum and lasting value around their work without compromising ownership.
* **For fans**, Oshi transforms viewership into meaningful participation by letting you support anime you care about, follow its growth, and build a contribution history that can unlock future rewards as the stories succeed.
* **For licensees**, Oshi provides earlier access to emerging anime IPs, clear signals of audience interest, and a more inclusive path to global growth by improving visibility and opening participation to partners of all sizes.
<figure><img src="https://2096973912-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F05bQcb1f5efG5AT9g7Lq%2Fuploads%2F5Nfzvz7t7ivfVGlgZRYr%2FFrame%202085663004.png?alt=media&amp;token=cfdf2e68-451b-439a-8f20-297b835989d9" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
### **Why This Matters**
Oshi is focused on building a real future for anime IPs, where every supporter helps shape success and participation ties people to the journey’s rewards.
We’re creating a system that opens creative ownership across the community, encouraging deeper engagement, earlier growth, and tangible value for those who believe in stories from the start.
Oshi is building a new model for anime IPs. It’s one where participation is measurable, value flows more efficiently, and early alignment leads to long-term scale.
We’re not dismantling the industry. We're helping it evolve into a more connected, creator-driven future.
### *<mark style="color:blue;">tl;dr</mark>*
*<mark style="color:blue;">Anime fans form an extraordinarily engaged global community, driving cultural movements from Tokyo to Los Angeles through immersive cosplay, enthusiastic social media expression, and passionate recommendations. Their influence extends notably into gaming, powering hits like Genshin Impact and bridging anime with a nearly $188B gaming market. Oshi channels this cultural momentum into a platform designed to deepen fan participation, giving dedicated fans new ways to celebrate and amplify their fandom, activate cross-industry connections, and engage through thoughtfully designed digital experiences and collectibles.</mark>*
# A Deeply Engaged Global Community
What makes this market expansion especially compelling is the unique nature of anime fandom. Anime fans distinguish themselves from other entertainment audiences through proactive enthusiasm and active support, a phenomenon now widely known as **Oshikatsu**. Oshikatsu encompasses various proactive activities, including regularly purchasing merchandise to directly support favorite artists or series, creating and sharing fan art and other content, and organizing events or social media campaigns to actively promote beloved characters and idols. This dynamic and dedicated fan culture not only drives market growth but also deepens community bonds, shaping the global influence and longevity of anime.
According to industry data, 78% of fans engage with anime daily or weekly, while 95% actively research information about their favorite series and characters—demonstrating a level of involvement that extends well beyond passive consumption. Moreover, anime fandom is remarkably diverse, with 64% of fans hailing from different cultural backgrounds. This has helped anime evolve into a truly global phenomenon, one in which 88% of fans report emotional investment in the storylines and 77% actively recommend series to friends and family.
The overlap between anime fans and gamers presents an equally compelling opportunity. Anime fans are 40% more likely to be avid gamers, and three in five are in the market for video games. By tapping into these fans, we can bridge a massive \~$188B gaming industry. Genshin Impact exemplifies this potential: powered by anime-inspired aesthetics and storytelling, it became the fastest game ever to hit $5B in revenue. It’s a testament to the profound influence anime fans wield when their fandom is fully activated.
### *<mark style="color:blue;">tl;dr</mark>*
*<mark style="color:blue;">Anime fans form an extraordinarily engaged global community, driving cultural movements from Tokyo to Los Angeles through immersive cosplay, enthusiastic social media expression, and passionate recommendations. Their influence extends notably into gaming, powering hits like Genshin Impact and bridging anime with a nearly $188B gaming market. Oshi channels this remarkable cultural momentum onto the blockchain, giving dedicated fans new avenues to celebrate and amplify their fandom, activate cross-industry connections, and unlock deeper participation through thoughtfully designed digital experiences and collectibles.</mark>*
# The Opportunity Gap
These trends reveal a crucial disconnect in the anime industry: while international markets and highly engaged fans are driving growth, the industry's structure remains anchored in traditional Japanese distribution models. This disconnect opens up three key opportunities:
1. **Untapped Fan Participation:** Despite their deep engagement and willingness to invest time and energy, fans still lack meaningful ways to participate in and benefit from an anime’s success. The gap between fan passion and participation represents a major untapped market.
2. **Global Distribution Friction:** The surge in international demand highlights the inefficiencies of current distribution models, which weren't designed for global scale. A platform that streamlines global access while maintaining proper rights management will unlock significant value.
3. **Community-Creator Disconnect:** While fans demonstrate unprecedented levels of engagement, they remain separated from creators by multiple industry layers. Bridging this gap offers a chance to build new value through direct creator-fan relationships.
The convergence of these factors, rapid international growth, deeply engaged fans and outdated structures, creates an ideal environment for innovation. As anime continues its trajectory to surpass 1 billion fans worldwide, the opportunity exists to fundamentally reimagine how fans, creators and the industry interact. Oshi is positioned to bridge these gaps, creating an ecosystem that aligns with anime’s increasingly global and participatory future.
### *<mark style="color:blue;">tl;dr</mark>*
*<mark style="color:blue;">Anime is growing rapidly across the globe, but the systems behind it haven’t kept pace. Fans want more than just watching. They want to feel involved in the worlds they care about. Creators crave deeper connection, greater visibility, and room to tell their stories on their own terms. But outdated infrastructure and layers of intermediaries hold that potential back. By bridging this gap, we can help anime evolve from a passive experience into a deeply collaborative and rewarding phenomenon.</mark>*
# The Problem: Current State of Anime
<figure><img src="https://2096973912-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F05bQcb1f5efG5AT9g7Lq%2Fuploads%2FT7k6a4DrpnxNChTlmS1X%2Fimage%20(2).png?alt=media&amp;token=43974f6d-ba1b-4cb0-83f1-68a93c4f9e76" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
The current anime industry operates through a complex web of intermediaries and agents, creating several key challenges:
* **Lack of Transparency:** Legacy anime licensing is dominated by large conglomerates that limit global access, especially for small and mid-sized licensees. Deals are too complex, resulting in suboptimal global distribution and leaving many IPs under-monetized.
* **Misaligned Incentives with Suboptimal Value Distribution:** Current production committee systems fragment decision-making and profit-sharing. Creators and fans often find themselves at the bottom of the value chain, capturing only a fraction of the value they help generate.
* **Passive Fandom with Limited Influence:** Despite being home to some of the most engaged and active fanbases, anime fans have long been relegated to the role of passive consumers, with minimal avenues to connect with industry participants and express their fandom through more impactful means.
### *<mark style="color:blue;">tl;dr</mark>*
*<mark style="color:blue;">The anime industry is tightly controlled by big corporations and centralized platforms, limiting access to creators while leaving fans on the sidelines. This control stifles innovation, prevents meaningful collaboration, and relegates fans to passive consumers instead of active participants, ultimately resulting in missed opportunities and suppressed creativity.</mark>*
# Limitations of Existing Offerings
Despite the anime industry’s global popularity and diverse ecosystem of content providers, today’s market solutions fail to address fundamental issues of transparency, fan engagement, and equitable value distribution. Existing models largely rely on traditional intermediaries, opaque contractual arrangements, and limited avenues for meaningful audience participation. Below are the key categories of current solutions and their inherent shortcomings:
<mark style="color:red;">**Traditional Streaming Platforms (e.g., Crunchyroll, Netflix):**</mark> <mark style="color:red;"></mark><mark style="color:red;">Aggregated anime content via subscription models</mark>
* **Opaque Licensing Deals:** Viewers have no insight into how IP rights are negotiated and how their contributions benefit the creators they support.
* **Passive Fan Experience:** Fans consume content but have limited to no direct influence on their favorite medium.
* **Regional Restrictions:** Many shows are geo-blocked, delaying or denying access to international audiences.
<mark style="color:red;">**Production Committees & Licensing Agencies:**</mark> <mark style="color:red;"></mark><mark style="color:red;">A traditional ecosystem where multiple stakeholders (publishers, studios, merchandisers, networks) share risks and rewards in bringing an anime from production to market</mark>
* **Complexity & Inefficiency:** Multi-party committees create misaligned incentives, slow negotiations, and a lack of transparency in value distribution.
* **Entrenched Gatekeepers:** Production committees tend to focus on landing large, lucrative deals, leaving small and mid-sized licensees overlooked. As a result, new players struggle to enter the market, and promising IPs miss out on reaching a broader global audience.
* **Exclusionary to Fans:** There’s no meaningful way for fans to participate early on as they are only viewed as end consumers to sell to.
<mark style="color:red;">**Crowdfunding Platforms (e.g., Kickstarter, Campfire):**</mark> <mark style="color:red;"></mark><mark style="color:red;">One-time funding solutions for niche or independent anime projects</mark>
* **Short-Term Engagement:** Fan influence is limited to non-existent after the initial funding goals are met.
* **Minimal Transparency:** Backers often lack ongoing visibility into how funds are used or how decisions are made beyond project completion.
* **Lack of Quality Selection:** Does not provide fans with access to high quality animation available within the traditional Japanese anime industry as majority of projects are from indie creators.
<mark style="color:red;">**Direct-to-Consumer Merchandising & Fan Clubs:**</mark> <mark style="color:red;"></mark><mark style="color:red;">Exclusive merchandise, early access to events, or insider updates to deepen fan loyalty</mark>
* **Passive Fandom:** Fans remain consumers rather than stakeholders, with limited ability to shape and influence decisions.
* **No Transparency or Control:** The broader production and licensing challenges remain unaddressed.
<mark style="color:red;">**Data-Driven Platforms & Aggregators:**</mark> <mark style="color:red;"></mark><mark style="color:red;">Enhanced recommendations and user analytics to improve content discovery</mark>
* **Still Intermediary-Dominated:** Underlying licensing and production committee complexities persist.
* **No Value Alignment:** Data insights may improve user experience but do not shift industry incentives to empower fans and creators in meaningful ways.
### In Summary
Current market solutions operate within frameworks that reinforce traditional power dynamics and opacity. While some offer incremental improvements—such as direct fan funding, digital collectibles, or data-driven recommendations—they fail to address systemic issues. None provide a truly unified platform that aligns fans, creators, and licensees in a transparent, incentive-driven ecosystem, underscoring the need for a holistic approach like Oshi.
Meanwhile, other foreign and web3-focused players have attempted to break into the Japanese market by relying on profit-centric strategies or large capital injections. However, without a nuanced understanding of Japanese culture and business practices, they often struggle to gain meaningful traction. By contrast, Oshi’s founders have spent years cultivating trust with influential industry stakeholders who share our vision—relationships grounded in more than transactional gains. This combination of local credibility and a willingness to innovate positions Oshi to succeed where others have fallen short, bridging entrenched gaps and fostering a new era of anime production and distribution.
### *<mark style="color:blue;">tl;dr</mark>*
*<mark style="color:blue;">Current platforms hold fans back. They collect fees, restrict creative control, and provide limited opportunities to shape stories. Existing offerings don’t fully capture the true potential of fandom, the desire to support the stories we love, help them grow, and share meaningfully in their success. Nobody has bridged the gap between global fandom and direct creator empowerment. The potential is immense, but today's tools simply weren’t designed for it.</mark>*
# The Oshi Solution
<figure><img src="https://2096973912-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2F05bQcb1f5efG5AT9g7Lq%2Fuploads%2F6TWVg4Ct0fiQdjrranpp%2FNex%20gen.png?alt=media&amp;token=7614e91b-d9b2-4a0d-a85e-bf938a38c6e5" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>
Oshi addresses these challenges by creating an open anime ecosystem where all participants can interact directly, fairly, and transparently to maximize the potential of anime IPs on the platform:
1. **Fans as Active Stakeholders:** Fans move up the value chain, participating in governance decisions, contributing to the platform’s growth and earning rewards tied to the success they help create. By engaging with and contributing to anime IPs, fans become more than spectators. They become integral to the narrative of anime’s future.
2. **Creators with Global Control & Direct Fan Connections:** Oshi offers a new model by limiting intermediaries, granting creators the power to scale their work globally on their own terms. By connecting more directly with their audiences, they can engage fans in unprecedented ways, build dedicated communities, and retain a greater share of the value their creations generate.
3. **Licensees as Global Enablers:** Licensees of all sizes gain transparent, fair access to a diverse portfolio of anime IPs. This open competition fosters a truly global marketplace where distribution rights flow to the highest-value matches to maximize the potential of each IP on the Oshi platform.
4. **Expanding Markets & Growing Value within the Ecosystem:** As Oshi scales, it opens up new revenue channels and fosters direct relationships among creators, fans, and licensees, removing barriers that limit innovation and access for new entrants. Oshi doesn’t function as another intermediary. Instead, its streamlined approach creates fresh opportunities for underrepresented anime IPs and emerging licensees, fueling growth from the ground up. While Oshi takes a modest fee to maintain and enhance the platform, this share remains significantly lower than traditional industry cuts. The result is a more equitable value chain, where the bulk of value flows to the true growth catalysts: fans and creators, ensuring that the community thrives together as Oshi grows.
Through this comprehensive approach, Oshi creates an ecosystem where fans can meaningfully participate in anime’s growth, build lasting connections with creators, and join communities that support anime productions and IPs from the very beginning. This enables creators to thrive with the support of their true fans, while dedicated partners help bring anime IPs to their full potential globally.
### *<mark style="color:blue;">tl;dr</mark>*
*<mark style="color:blue;">By reimagining the old system, Oshi gives creators the financial and creative freedom they’ve always deserved. Fans aren’t just watching anymore. They’re stepping in as real partners in the process. It’s a win-win that energizes the whole ecosystem, with early contributors earning the lion’s share of the rewards.</mark>*
# Importance to The Industry
### **The Rise of Fan Participation in Creative Communities**
In recent years, platforms such as Kickstarter, Patreon, and YouTube have reshaped how audiences connect with the creators they admire. These tools did more than unlock funding. They **invited fans directly into the creative process**, allowing them to contribute earlier, support meaningfully, and invest emotionally in the stories they love.
This shift has proven powerful. When people feel genuinely included, communities grow stronger, creative momentum builds, and lasting connections form.
### **The Unique Challenges Facing Anime Today**
Anime has blossomed into a global cultural phenomenon. However, despite expanding international viewership, the underlying industry structure has remained relatively unchanged. This creates challenges, particularly for fans outside Japan who wish to participate earlier in the creative journey, and for creators who seek more direct relationships with their audience.
While platforms like Kickstarter and Patreon have reshaped other creative industries, anime has unique complexities that require a dedicated solution. Currently, anime lacks an equivalent system for three key reasons:
1. **Complex Rights Management:** Anime IPs typically involve many parties across multiple regions, complicating licensing and direct fan participation.
2. **Limited Global Infrastructure:** Current platforms are unable to effectively support large-scale fan involvement and international licensing simultaneously.
3. **Misaligned Incentives:** Traditional models often emphasize intermediaries, limiting direct engagement between creators and fans.
### **Oshi and Anime’s Next Chapter**
Oshi represents the first comprehensive solution designed specifically to enable true fan participation in anime, carefully respecting existing complexities in rights management and global distribution. Just as Kickstarter reshaped indie game funding and Patreon transformed creator economics, Oshi has the potential to **redefine how anime IPs connect with global audiences** from inception through distribution.
With international audiences now driving anime's growth, the industry faces increasing demand for deeper fan engagement and transparent collaboration. Oshi addresses this need by creating pathways for meaningful fan involvement, empowering creators to build direct relationships with supporters, and complementing licensees’ established processes. This collaborative environment helps ensure alignment and mutual benefit among fans, creators, and licensees alike.
By providing this connective infrastructure, Oshi is positioned to become a critical platform within the anime industry, enhancing existing strengths and fostering sustainable growth for creators, fans, and licensees alike.
### *<mark style="color:blue;">tl;dr</mark>*
*<mark style="color:blue;">Oshi is transforming anime by igniting a vibrant, transparent platform where passionate fans actively shape, support, and share in the global success of their favorite and beloved stories. Removing traditional barriers, Oshi empowers creators to fully express their artistic visions, provides licensees with valuable early insights, and elevates fans into true collaborators and stakeholders. Together, we’re unleashing creativity, celebrating collective victories, and pioneering an exciting new era for storytelling.</mark>*
