The current campaign on Oshi. Experience GATE 2's production journey from the inside.

GATE 2 is a membership program. The anime is already in production. Your participation unlocks access and rewards throughout the journey.

The anime

GATE 2: Tides of Conflict is the next chapter in Takumi Yanai's GATE franchise. The original GATE anime brought millions of viewers into its world of military fantasy and isekai adventure. GATE 2 expands that universe with a new story arc, following the Japan Self-Defense Forces as they undertake new missions across the troubled seas of a parallel world.

The anime is produced by Studio M2 (known for Pluto on Netflix) with GENCO as associate producer. GENCO also produced the original GATE: Thus the JSDF Fought There. Publisher Alphapolis, home to the original light novels, rounds out the production committee alongside Oshi and Kasagi Labo.

Target release: 2027

Why GATE 2

The GATE franchise has one of the most passionate fan communities in military fantasy anime. For years, fans have kept the series alive through fan fiction, original artwork, and creative explorations of the world of GATE. That energy made GATE a natural fit for Oshi's first campaign.

GATE 2 is Oshi's pilot campaign and the first membership-based program on the platform. We chose this project to build the foundation for how fans and creators connect on Oshi, with the goal of extending that model to future anime productions.

Oshi holds master licensing rights for GATE 2. That covers streaming, merchandise, marketing, distribution, and all future licensing across formats and territories. It also means direct access to content that rarely leaves the studio: storyboards, character design sketches, key animation frames, and director commentary.

The campaign

Campaign window: Feb 27 – May 27, 2026 (3 months)

During this window, you can:

  • Choose from seven ranks ($5 to $10,000), each with its own set of rewards

  • Access production art and behind-the-scenes content as it's created

  • Collect official digital and physical collectibles

  • Submit your name for the anime credits (select tiers)

  • Support creators directly through the Creator Reward Pool

  • Access Oshi Membership Rewards (OMR), where your participation in the story is recognized and rewarded

Production continues regardless of participation. The campaign is about access and connection, not whether the anime gets made.
