### How the GATE2 Award Works

There is **no separate application** for the GATE2 Award.

**Entries submitted to Contest 1 or Contest 2 are automatically considered for the GATE2 Award,** provided they comply with the respective contest rules.

The GATE2 production team will review eligible entries and select the winner(s) based on how well each song matches the world and atmosphere of the GATE2 anime.

### How are winners chosen?

Entries must first meet the submission requirements and eligibility criteria of each contest. From the eligible entries, the GATE2 project team will review and select the GATE2 Award winners.

#### Contest 1 - Song Selection

If selected, the winner will be required to:

* Edit the winning song into an anime-size version (approx. 89–90 seconds)
* Provide the multitrack/stem audio files
* Create and provide an instrumental version
* Submit the anime-size version around late September 2026

Participants must agree to these requirements when entering Contest 1. Shortlisted candidates are contacted individually by the UtaOdo Collection ～2026 Autumn～organizers.

#### Contest 2 - Singer Selection

The winning singer will perform the song selected in Contest 1.

To enter Contest 2:

* Participants do not need to perform the Contest 1 winning song.
* Participants should submit an "Utattemita" (cover song) video during the submission period
* Submissions must follow the standard UtaOdo Collection participation and ranking rules

Shortlisted candidates are contacted individually by The VOCALOID Collection ～2026 Summer～ organizers. Winners will be required to complete the necessary agreements with Oshi or the contest organizer.

#### STEP 1. Check Which Ranking You Are Eligible For

You may enter either the TOP100 Ranking or the Rookie Ranking.

* **TOP100 Ranking**: The TOP100 Ranking is open to original songs primarily featuring voice-synthesis software.
* **Rookie Ranking**: The Rookie Ranking is limited to creators who first uploaded an original song using voice-synthesis software to Niconico on or after August 21, 2024.

The same work cannot be entered in multiple rankings at the same time. However, you may enter multiple different works.

#### STEP 2. Prepare an Eligible Original Song

Your entry must:

* Be an original song that you helped create.
* Primarily feature voice-synthesis software.
* Be uploaded to Niconico for the first time during the applicable submission period.

There is no restriction on which voice-synthesis software you may use. Eligible software includes VOCALOID, UTAU, Synthesizer V, CeVIO, VOICEROID, NEUTRINO, Hatsune Miku NT, and others.

Human vocals, harmonies, or narration may also be included, provided that voice-synthesis software remains the primary element of the work.

Collaborative works are allowed. You may also include partial quotations, such as phrases, from your own previously released original songs.

#### STEP 3. Upload Your Song and Enter the Ranking

Upload your song to Niconico during the submission period for your chosen ranking.

**TOP100 Ranking**

* Submission period: August 22, 2026, 12:00 AM – August 24, 2026, 5:00 PM JST

* Open the permission settings and allow the video to be featured on Niconico Live.
* Include the uploader's name in the video description.
* Include the pronunciation in Katakana of the video title.

#### STEP 5. Check the Video Format

Videos uploaded as Niconico Shorts are not included in the VocaColle rankings.

A video is automatically treated as a Niconico Short when it meets both of the following conditions:

* It is three minutes or shorter.
* It uses a square or vertical aspect ratio.

To avoid having your entry treated as a Niconico Short, upload either:

* A video longer than three minutes, or
* A video with a horizontal aspect ratio.

#### STEP 6. Avoid Disqualification

**Your entry may be excluded from the ranking if:**

* You did not participate in creating the submitted work.
* It is posted before the applicable submission period begins.
* It is posted after 5:00 PM JST on August 24, 2026.
* It is uploaded as a Niconico Short.
* It completely matches a work previously published on Niconico.
* The organizer otherwise determines that the work is ineligible.

**A previously published work may still be considered a complete match when only the following have been changed:**

* The arrangement
* The mix or mastering
* The illustration
* The video

Participants are also asked not to exchange reactions as a condition for reacting to each other's works.

For the Rookie Ranking, an entry may also be excluded if the creator is found to have uploaded an original song using voice-synthesis software before the Rookie eligibility period.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.oshi.co/ed/ed.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
